From the 24th of this month until October 28, Gyeongbokgung Palace will be opening for night admission, in connection with Korea Creative Content Agency to offer a special evening to tourists. This event will use the cultural heritage in a brand new way to create an artistic atmosphere appealing to visitors from home and abroad.
The many programs will center on Yeongjegyo Bridge and Gyeonghoeru Pavilion with the events “Mongyu, cross the dream bridge” and “Hyangyu, share and enjoy” respectively. Through this collaboration of digital technology and artistic sensibility, visitors can see and experience a brand new side of Gyeongbokgung Palace.
“Mongyu, cross the dream bridge” takes place at Geumcheon Stream and Yeongjegyo Bridge inside Gyeongbokgung Palace and shows the connection between the palace and the outside world. Digital technology brings Joseon Dynasty’s spirit to life, playing out along the ground from Geunjeongmun Gate to Yeongjegyo Bridge. Walking along this new space will feel like entering a dream world!
“Hyangyu, spare and enjoy” will enliven Gyeonghoeru Pavilion, the largest wooden structure and National Treasure No. 224, through the use of projection mapping and media façade. The visual performance will be matched with the beat of traditional music and traditional dancers for a sensually pleasing event.
