Tourists to bask in moonlight traditional performances at Gyeongbokgung Palace

To offer more to see and enjoy during the palace’s evening admission, Gyeongbokgung Palace will hold a special performance titled, “Light and Dance Raonsaena.” Visitors will have the opportunity to appreciate Korea’s traditional music through various performances throughout the palace’s evening admission period, from September 16 to September 29 and from October 21 to November 3.

Sujeongjeon Hall will serve as the performance stage for the event. This hall used to be called Jiphyeonjeon Hall and served as a study hall for scholars and King Sejong (r.1418-1450) during the Joseon Dynasty. The performance is expected to integrate songs, music, and instrumental music to combine aspects of both traditional and contemporary music. Dazzling lights and decorative illuminations together with the fabulous performances will create an unforgettable magical evening for the audience.

The performance starts 20:00 and will last for approximately 55 minutes. Take note that the performance will not be held on Tuesdays as the palace will be closed.
